My Movie Poster for First Impressions

This is the draft version of the poster for my film trailer 'First Impressions'.

This movie poster was inspired by both a film poster and DVD cover combined...

This the original movie poster for Pride and Prejudice. What I mainly picked up on on this poster was the use of the two main characters and no one else. Also the use of Keira Knightley's characters in the forground so that the audience know that it his her story or about her. Instead of using the main female protagnist in the forground, I decided it would look more contempary to have the couple in closer proxemics and the main character to look at the spectator, so as to establish her role in the film.

This is the DVD cover for the popular rom-com P.S. I Love You. It is quite evident that my poster was influenced by this cover, due to the pose of the couple and the structure of the poster i.e. the couple isn't central but the female protagnist is, suggesting her role in the film as a main character. The use of a slogan along with the title of the film, to draw more attention to it and the male character is looking at the female whilst the female is looking at the camera, is suggesting to the spectator that the male character is in love with the female character, however because the female character is looking at the camera it then may show that her role in the relationhip is some how altered by circumstance and isn't in the batural flow of things.
